Mark “WEISSGUY” Weiss is a world-renowned photographer whose work with artists like Guns N’ Roses, Mötley Crüe, Van Halen and Ozzy Osbourne helped shape the larger-than-life visual style of the ‘70s and ‘80s and continues to in the current day. Steve Lacy is an artist who you may also know from his job as the 10 PM anchor on Fox 5 in NYC. Steve is a painter, printmaker and huge music fan who is thrilled to be partnering with his friend Mark. Together they are WEISSGUY + LACY – a visual collaboration of two mediums. Mark and Steve have teamed up to create original art inspired by Mark’s iconic photographs. The idea is to go “back to the darkroom.” After learning how to shoot on film and develop in a darkroom as a teenager, Mark eventually embraced the move to digital. Early on in their collaboration, Mark realized Steve was essentially reclaiming his legendary photos from the digital realm and bringing them back to life as tangible pieces of art that can be seen and touched in real life.
